The Porto Conte Regional Park is one of the most suggestive settings where you can enjoy the slow pace of a walk or hike, more or less challenging, to discover nature and the beauty of a territory, its history, and its hidden aspects.

Let us guide you on your walking journey. As certified Interpretive and Nature Guides, we can propose itineraries in the territory of Porto Conte Park or nearby areas based on your requests and your level of preparation. Below are some proposals, please click on the title.

When visiting Alghero, a visit to Capo Caccia is a must. This gigantic limestone promontory protects the entire Gulf. Here, human history and nature are inextricably linked. The route we propose follows the edge of the cliff overlooking the sea. We will walk on the back of this limestone giant and reach 200 meters above sea level. We will enjoy unique views of the island of Foradada and the Bay of Porto Conte. When we spot the Capo Caccia Lighthouse, we will begin to descend towards the sea. Following an ancient path, we will reach one of the Spanish defensive towers built towards the end of the 1500s. The path overlooks the magnificent Bay of Porto Conte and the promontory of Punta Giglio, bringing us back to our starting point.

Brief technical description: a 5 km loop route lasting about 3 hours. The route is mostly classified as a tourist hike as it does not require specific experience. However, it should be considered a hiking intermediate since the first 30 minutes are uphill with a moderate, occasionally steep gradient. Therefore, it requires a minimum of effort and physical condition during the ascent.

If you need an intimate contact with nature and the sea, get ready for this highly scenic route. The area is little frequented and is the least accessible part of the Porto Conte Regional Park. We will therefore have time and opportunity to find ourselves completely alone, walking along the edge of small cliffs and coastal slopes. The sea will always be in our sight. Along the path marked among the low bushes of the garrigue vegetation, we will pass by coves and Spanish watchtowers. Halfway through the walk, we will take a break at the magnificent Porto Ferro beach. The return will be along a simpler route, direct and hidden from the sea but not without surprises: here, deer are at home.

Brief technical description: a 12 km loop route that we classify as dedicated to expert hikers. It consists of two parts: a coastal path and an internal forest road. Along the coastal path, there are alternating ups and downs with moderate gradients. The forest road for the return runs parallel at a short distance from the coastal path and brings you back to the starting point. In case of need or fatigue, you can leave the coastal path to continue and/or return along the forest road. A good physical condition is necessary to sustain 6 hours of walking in total.

The Punta Giglio hike is located in the heart of the Porto Conte Regional Park and the Capo Caccia and Isola Piana Marine Protected Area. Along the route, you can enjoy beautiful views of the Porto Conte bay and the Capo Caccia promontory.

The highest point is perched about 90 meters above the sea. From the remains of the anti-aircraft positions of World War II, we will take some time to admire the breathtaking view that stretches from Alghero to Capo Caccia. The return will be along a more internal path that will give us the opportunity to pass through the last original forest of the area, which has survived the changes brought by man over time.

Brief technical description: a 7 km loop route classified as tourist, which can be completed in 4 hours. It takes place on wide paths, both flat and with slight or moderate gradients in some sections.
